Flathead Fun
If anyone is wondering why i have a crazy grin on my face in this photo it isn’t solely because I have an extremely beautiful woman holding on to me…
It’s because I had just recently discovered that lakes weren’t just good for swimming and boating. Oh no! Enter the Bombardier SeaDoo RXP of which Wikipedia says:
“When the RXP was introduced in 2004, it was the fastest and most powerful four-stroke two-person PWC ever, producing 215 horsepower (160 kW) and capable of reaching approximately 70 mph (110 km/h).”
Oh yes.
Jenni and I were invited by our friend Benji to go spend Sunday afternoon with some friends on the lake. Little did I know what fun was in store! (A footnote to this story is that i’d never before ridden a jetski, waverunner, or whatever you call it, and Jenni had long hoped that I’d have a chance while we were in Montana).
We arrived at Benji’s friend Amber’s house, hung out on the dock for a while (during which time I tried a paddle-board for the first time), then Benji took me out for my first ride on the back of the SeaDoo.
All I can say is that it was a revelation – when Benji opened up the throttle it was all I could do to throw my head back and laugh uncontrollably! Jenni later told me that when we were way offshore she could still hear me laughing! I have never driven anything so outrageously powerful, and ridiculously fun!
I was made for such things!
To top off our afternoon, I learned to wakeboard as the sun set over Flathead lake. All in all pretty fun. And that’s just about the understatement of the year! Thanks Benji!
Check out my first time wakeboarding!
