Gallup Poll of the Week….
An interesting poll result on the views the average Americans hold on abortion….

This is interesting, although I have a tendency to mis-trust statistics like this partially because people project what they think, they should think onto questions like this, what they actually think translates into their actions. If we’re honest, many live and therefore think ‘Its not really my problem’ in relation to the subject of abortion.
I also wonder if there is a correlation here with the political trend, everyone likes to feel like they are an actvist, so I wonder now the democratic majority has picked a pro-choice president, pro-lifers are coming out the woodwork, but when the previous administration was in governement it was the pro-choicers who felt they weren’t being democratically respresented? Just a thought. The terms pro-life and pro-choice are also well due for retirement and carry far too much poltical and social baggage for them to be employed in a meaningful way in creating real change on this issue, instead they have become placards for movements that are not invested in the realities of these issues but instead what they represent in the american-moral-conciousness.
