Our journey ends…
On Tuesday evening, Jenni and I finally arrived back in San Jose, after over 4,000 miles of planned driving in our trusty Saturn (Safeway runs aside), visiting a ton of rad people, spending six weeks in Montana, and driving through more bugs than we knew existed (thanks Idaho – see below)….
Our chariot of choice.

Late-night top-ups.

Here are a few of our favorite memories throughout the trip:
Going out to dinner with Grandma and Papa Larsen in Calistoga.
Camping in the Redwood forest in Del Norte national park.

California Pizza Kitchen with Naphtalie, Katie, and Dan in Oregon.

Touring Mount Hood in the longest detour ever.

Climbing a hill in the crisp early morning air with Tim Dyk.

Hanging out with Aunt Paula, Emily, Hannah, and Will in Pullman.

Running in the early morning with Jenni and the deer!

Swimming in Flathead Lake in the afternoons after class.

The Saturn ticking over 66666. Photo got lost in the iPhone ether somewhere.
Almost ripping my arm off tubing behind Amber’s boat.

Glacier National Park. Amazing.

Climbing Pulpit Rock with Basil, Susan, David, and Melinda.

Felling trees with Dan, Kevin, Brian, and Jeremy West. Unfortunately no photo, but the ground shook!
Our double date with the Byersdorfs
.
Completing our finals and handing them in before scheduled.

Graduation.

Driving 1400 miles in 27 hours. (Jenni doing jumping jacks).

Staying with Ashley, Jason, Zoe, and Daisy in Bakersfield, CA.
Dan and Meehan’s wedding – beautiful.

Space Mountain, Disneyland, courtesy of Jenni’s cousin Jessica (thanks!) with Jenni and Basil. We’re serious astronauts.

Camping with the Browns in Pismo. This is physics in action.

Highway 1. The old Saturn ticking over 70k.

God really set up an awesome trip for us – it was amazing and filled with his goodness and grace, and all along the way he set up crazy divine appointments! Our God is so good to us, and it is such a privilege to walk with him in this life.
What made it all even more rad? Doing it all with Jenni – this was our first big trip since we got married, and it was a TON of fun. Thanks my love.

Awesome post Johnny! That is a pretty hefty journey, scotland to cornwall almost ten times! Looks like awesome fun, so glad you geek out over mileage 70000 etc, Rachel doesn’t even get excited when we get to a big number and I take a snap, haha. Cool to see Tim and the McLarens in your photos. Great photo of Jenni at the end too.
Hello J&J ~ At the moment, you two are sitting on the patio working on stuff for YWAM. I am overjoyed to have you back in San Jose. I mentioned to Johnny that I was looking forward your next blog post and boy did he deliver! I loved the AMAZING photos and the creative captions. It was a wonderful recap of your trip and I’m so thankful for the journey you have been on with an INCREDIBLE God, and each other. Thank you for keeping us posted along the way and for this recap! The millions of smooshed bugs on your bumper was my least favorite photo (ewwwwww) and the photo of Jenni at the end was my most favorite because the light of Jesus shines so brightly on the inside and the outside of that girl, it’s breathtaking. I love you two!!
What a great trip you guys had! You will remember it all your life, I’m sure. You must have so many photos! Wow! What a creation God has made, and that’s JUST the western USA! I,too, love the photo of Jenni. I miss you both sooooo much and really love you. I am so so ready to see you in action as a married couple. I feel cheated! Can’t wait to see you.
Haha liam yeah I’m definitely a geek at heart! Just realized that I’m glad the speedo shows me going a respectable speed! Can’t wait to see you guys soon!
I PRAISE OUR GOD you are home safe in San Jose and we will see you soon at Josh & Shannons Wdg. What wonderful memories you both have from this trip. The sights, the sounds, the people you met along the way, WOW! God is SO GOOD! Have enjoyed ALL your pictures, however, that last one of Jenni is VERY special. Love ya,
Hey bro… I have to admit that I would have love to come and just make a documentary of your guys’ trip!!! It just looked such an epic journey! I really hope that God is going to clear the way for the right direction after this awesome trip
You guys saw so many things around America, but on top of all that God revealed his goodness and plans for your life, and that’s pretty awesome!!!
P.S. Jenni looks so good in that last picture
Be blessed guys!
Love,
Samuel
