The Weekend…in Pictures
It would be an understatement to say, “We had a fun weekend!”
It was essentially a non-stop slew of events and good times with people we really love. Friday night we celebrated the birthday of Johnny’s sister Bethany with the Reid family, and had a blissfully relaxing time together while enjoying dessert and a DVD. Saturday, all the men from the DTS had a guys time, which included cliff jumping and then eating meat. They had a blast. But I think they were too busy being manly, so we don’t have any photos to share from their testosterone time together. Sorry about that. But I was able to capture some great moments at our girls night on Saturday. All the girls from our DTS got dressed up and went out for dessert together. Then the 16 of us came back and watched a movie (13 Going on 30) and painted our nails. If that’s not girlie, I don’t know what is. A few of the girls were actually pining for an adrenaline rush, so we’ll have to jump off cliffs another time. However, I do think we’ll still opt for eating dessert over meat. We’ll have to see though. Check out a couple pictures from our girls night…

Another very girlish event was Bethany’s baby shower on Sunday. It was such an amazing time, and a great privilege to honor Bethany. My wonderful husband took on the task of providing childcare for the party! I know, he’s ridiculously brave. So, probably a dozen kids spent the afternoon with Johnny and his crew of childcare providers (6 gracious volunteers from our DTS), while all the ladies enjoyed the shower.
Check out a couple shots of the shower too…

We ended our weekend by having some dessert with a few of our friends Sunday evening. After so much recreational activity packed into just a couple days, we were ready to fall into a very sweet, very deep sleep that night. So when we came home we went straight to bed. But as we drifted off to sleep we were thanking the Lord for all the blessings in our lives. We are surrounded by incredible people everyday. People who inspire us and encourage us and love us. And we are so grateful that God is good to us. Very, very good.
